This is my favorite time of year because it is our annual date with our friends the Gurneys.
Brian Gurney does our taxes for us and, as payment, we take them out to a fancy dinner.
Our favorite place to go is Restaurant Forte. Its the UVU culinary arts restaurant and it is amazing! A fancy four course meal for a descent price. Love it! This week's menu was Italian. Mmmmm...

Levi's first Primary Talk
Levi did a great job on one of his "firsts" - giving a talk in a primary. I don't know how hard it was for people in the audience to tell what he was saying, but he enjoyed speaking in the microphone. The topic was about the resurrection and so we talked all week about the people he knew that would be resurrected.
This is my Grammy. She's really nice. But she died before I was even born.
This is my Grandad. He's really fun. But he died last year.
This is my brother, Jesus Christ. He died a long time ago.
But because Jesus was resurrected, I know that my Grammy and Grandad will be resurrected too. And we can play together again.
the Running Man
You know that dance move - the running man - where you exert a lot of energy to look like you're running, but never actually get anywhere?
Well, that's what its like to push a stroller through the frozen streets of the Rex Lee Run 5K Saturday morning.
We woke up early to get ready for the race and was surprised to see so much white outside. I was secretly hoping the race would be canceled, but Brian said the kids would never forget running in the snow.
I actually love pushing the jogger trailer while running because its such a smooth ride. But the momentum of the ride propelled me down slick curbs and made pushing up a slippery sidewalk nearly impossible.
Our first Rex Lee Run was last year after we had just heard the news that Brian's dad had pancreatic cancer. He died just a few weeks later. And now the race will likely be a new family tradition.
We finished, but it wasn't without freezing and screaming kids. Ashby and Cody were nice and cozy in the trailer, but Levi and Paige (who couldn't comprehend that running would actually warm her up) were ice cubes by the end. Levi was inconsolable and that made our memories of the day not so wonderful.
I wore my old Merrell hiking shoes to run in hoping that my feet wouldn't end up as soaked. Maybe if they weren't 13 years old it would have worked. But my socks and toes were drenched.
I woke up the kids by saying we were going to have an adventure that day. We definitely did have an adventure, and its true, we will never forget running in the snow.

TUBING!
At one of Brian's bike races last summer he won tickets to go tubing at Soldier Hollow. On the last day of the tubing season we finally made it up there. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm day. The snow was pretty slushy, but at least we weren't freezing.
The first time down the hill was really slow. We had to stop and push off several times because the snow wasn't very slick.
Eventually we figured out how to work together and each run we got further and further. The kids had a great time and it was a lot of fun.
I just love being towed up the hill while lounging in a big tube. That's the way to go!

Blumer Has It
Last night we participated in our ward talent show.
Ever since we first heard the Adele song, "Rumor Has It" on the radio, we have thought it would be fun to change the words to "Blumer has it".
Brian is the creative word genius in our home, but he has been really busy with projects at work lately, so I finally got the nerve to try to figure out some lyrics for our song - since the talent show was only a few days away!
I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
It was fun to have the kids getting into it so much. Paige did great as the backup singer and the boys were awesome on the drums - or our pretend drums. Keep your eye on Ashby playing the blue ball - he rocked it!
Cody was the backup dancer and scared everyone on the front row as he got close to the edge (even our cameraman!).
We had a great time performing. Not even any whining or stagefright (at least not from the kids).
Enjoy!
Blumer Has
It (Lyrics)
She, she
is Paige,
She don’t
always want to act her age.
She has
three brothers
If you
cannot find them
Just look
under the covers.
Sure,
they’re not that tall,
But, babe,
they know exactly what they want.
Bless my
soul, I’ve my hands in the flour
They got
me running around
And,
chasing them every hour.
They make
my heart melt,
Cuz
they’re cute to the core
But
Blumers got a full house with their crazy kids four.
Blumer has
it (x8)
We know
how to play
But its
not always easy fun and games.
I heard
fighting down the hall
And don’t
forget the crayons on the wall.
And when
they creep out of bed in the night,
We lose
our sense of humor!
Bless my
soul! I’ve got my head in the clouds,
They made
a mom out of me
And, now
there’s chaos around.
They make
my heart melt,
Cuz
they’re cute to the core.
And
Blumers keep a smile on their face galore.
Blumer has
it (x8)
All of
these things, whispered in my ear
Tell a
story of our family so dear.
Just cuz
its hard work, don’t mean its not worth it.
Its not a
crazy thing.
Just cuz
its hard work, don’t mean its not worth it.
I know its
worth it.
Blumer has
it (x14)
Well
Blumers have a happy family evermore.
