Football game almost

I won another Facebook drawing! (I've been pretty lucky with some of those, just not any of the big ones - you know, like a free car!)
A couple weeks ago I won a free BYU blanket. Earlier this summer it was tickets to a Freedom Festival gala.
This time it was 2 tickets to the BYU v. Middle Tennessee football game. The game is going on right now. I had to turn the tickets down. Pretty bummed about that. It was probably my only chance to see a BYU game this year. But Brian is at a scout camp out and we don't have money for a babysitter and it was just going to be too complicated to make it work out. So, instead, I think about the lucky people who did get to go to the game. Although, they are probably freezing their tushes off.

Nine Years Old at Lagoon

Paige says, "My birthday was so awesome! My very first roller coaster was the wooden one. It goes up and down and up and down and zoom. I tried to go on the spider ride but I was already sick just looking at it. My favorite ride...  (that's a toughy) was Bombora and the Bat. I went on it a ton of times with Ashby."

This year we decided to celebrate Paige's birthday at Lagoon. We were fortunate enough to get some free tickets  so we were excited for this opportunity that we would never do otherwise.

It was an absolutely beautiful day. The weather was perfect and the lines weren't even too long!

I was worried about being allowed to ride anything while pregnant, but there weren't any restrictions. That was good because Brian doesn't ride roller coasters. So I went on the first few coasters with Paige and Ashby. But then I couldn't handle it anymore. It took all my strength and energy not to throw up and to keep a happy face. Eventually I found a moment to put my head in my hands and cry a little. Then I felt better. Man - I don't want to get too old to ride roller coasters!

I thought the river raft ride was pretty fun with the kiddos. Even though we got pretty wet, the sun felt nice afterward.

We brought picnic food and a bunch of cupcakes to eat. Everyone had a good time, except for Cody - he definitely wanted to take a nap, but we kept him entertained.

It was a fun day. But, for future reference, we found out that Lagoon is definitely not worth the money.

Pink Day

It was pink day for Ashby's first grade class. Each day over the past two weeks they have focused on a color and are encouraged to wear that color to school. Ashby has been pretty in to it. He was adamant about wearing pink, even though we couldn't find anything in his closet with that color. He simply went over to Paige's drawer and picked out the shirt he liked best. I admire his courage, confidence, and determination. I put a different shirt in his backpack (just in case), but he came home wearing pink. No big deal!

Shopping with only one kid

Paige and Ashby were at school and Levi was at his first day of preschool. It was just me and Cody!
Wow, ONE kid!
There was lots of stuff that needed to be done and I mustered up all my pregnant energy to actually be productive.
We took Brian to work so I could have to car to go grocery shopping.
Shopping with only one kid?! Piece of cake!
I was so excited!
We made it through the first couple of aisles pretty well...
Then I had to bust out the snacks and juice.
Then I tried to get Cody to draw and color.
...Its okay, I can do this...
When we got to the cereal aisle Cody was going crazy and I thought of a book we read at home, Llama Llama Mad at Mama. So, I tried to be really patient and let Cody out of the cart to help me shop.
By the next aisle he had run off to the middle of the store.
Now my cart was very full and very heavy. And Cody absolutely refused to sit in his seat. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I held him in my arms and tried to steer the heavy cart with only one hand.
We were almost done...just get some produce.
He's on the floor screaming.
Drag him to the check out.
Luckily the line isn't too long, but everyone in the store is staring at me.
I set Cody down and he flops on the floor to continue to scream.
A couple of people try to help, but there's nothing they can do.
I'm dripping in sweat - and I had actually tried to look nice!
Everything is scanned and bought.
I grab Cody from off the floor and am so glad to get out of the store.
Then we fight to get buckled in the carseat.
Drive home and flop on the couch with the fan on high.
Shopping with only one kid?! Not such a piece of cake.
Now I'm scared to death to ever take Cody shopping again.
