Christmas budget

At our house "Christmas budget" is pretty much an oxymoron.
Our Christmas presents come out of our grocery budget. This month we are only eating whatever can be made from the cans and boxes out of our pantry.
Am I bad mom if I'd rather spend money on gifts than food?
Its not like we're starving, we'll just need to restock the pantry next month.
I figure, when every penny is always spoken for, you do what you gotta do to have a merry Christmas!

This post made me laugh because we are in the same boat! Last month I only spent $75 on groceries, so that I had money to spend on gifts, lol. Awwww, the things we do. I'm sure some day we will look back on these times with great fondness. Having been a working mom for many, I just try to always remind myself how GRATEFUL I am to make these sacrifices so that I can finally be home with my girls. :-) Merry Christmas!

This is the very first year we had a separate Christmas budget. We've always done what you are doing in the past. I also have a habit of wrapping ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to make things more fun, LOL. Kate's first Christmas presents were rice cereal, bowls, and spoons. She was 5 months old at the time :)

Allison is getting diapers and wipes. Those giant boxes look so lovely wrapped under the tree.

Last year Megan's very favorite present was a box of Fruit by the Foot.

The thing I'm most excited for Natalie to open this year is a $2.99 set of 24 glow-in-the-dark bouncy balls from Party Land. Who needs expensive stuff when you can have BOUNCY BALLS? Money is overrated.
